Automatic Recirculation Check Valve

SSV-Series

The Automatic Recirculation Check Valve automatically opens and closes the bypass corresponding to the main flow rate. This flow controlled function operates without additional auxiliary energy.

The pressure and flow reduction to the minimum flow requirements in the bypass line takes place through a multistage throttle system with low cavitations and low noise.

By courtesy of the "Rotary-Valve" or the "Control-Disc Design" reliability and longevity are outstanding characteristics. The integrated non-return valve in the main delivery stream avoids of draining the pipe and reverse operation of the pump see also (see also Design and Function.)

SMA-Series

For pump discharge pressures over 220 bar the Automatic Minimum Flow System SMA 63/64 finds its place to protect centrifugal pumps.

Corresponding to the main flow rate the valve opens or closes the bypass. Through actuation of the bypass via a pilot operated plunger, the bypass can be opened resp. closed completely. With this On-Off-Regulation and the reduction of the pressure in front of the sealing area of the bypass makes it possible to handle the load limit up to 500 bar wear resistant and with low cavitations and of low noise. This flow controlled function operates without additional auxiliary energy.

Like the SSV-Series a non-return valve in the main delivery stream is integrated in the SMA (see also Design and Function).

SMV-Series

In case of fluid gases in the boiling point, the transformation of fluid into gas occurs by a minor temperature increase in the stopped pump. This gas volume then presses the fluid out of the pump towards the suction pipe. This results in the pump filling up partly or totally with gas. This can be caused by the temperature influence from outside as well as from the after-heat of the pump immediately after disconnection. Depending on the pump type it will become completely dry or filled up with gas in a way, that the impellers cannot build up delivery pressure when the pump is re-started. Thus the pump operates dry and seconds later considerable damages occur, possibly leading to destruction of the pump and environment.

The Special-Multifunction Valve (SMV) bases technically on the SSV-Series with the modulating bypass regulation.

In addition the Multifunction valve SMV provides an Automatic Degassing Device for idle or stopped pumps. Thus a continuous degasification at the pressure site of the pump is provided and the not running pump is always filled completely with delivery fluid. Immediately after start-up the pump produces the required differential pressure, and the automatic degassing device of the SMV valve shuts the degassing line tightly (see also Design and Function).
